Scabfree Lotion / Cream - Permethrin ( Usage, Composition, Dosage )
COMPOSITION:
ScabFREE Cream Contains: Permethrin MS.........5% w/w.ScabFREE Lotion Contains: Permethrin MS.........5% w/w.
ACTIONS/USAGE:
ScabFREE Cream / Lotion is an ectoparasiticide for scabies, Pediculosis capitis (had lice), Phthirus pubis (crab lice), and their ova. It is the most commonly prescribed medicine against scabies and it is well effective as well.INDICATIONS:
ScabFREE Cream / Lotion is indicated for the treatment of scabies, as well as infestations with Pediculosis capitis (head lice), Phthirus pubis (crab lice), and their ova.CONTRAINDICTIONS:
ScabFREE Cream / Lotion is contraindiction in individuals with known hypersensivity to the permethrin or to any of its components. In case of any reaction stop using the product and contact your doctor.PRECAUTIONS:
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes.ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Eczematous eruptions due to irritation from this product may occur. Pruritus, Erythema, Stingig, and rarely Rashes may occur.PREGNANCY & LACTATION:
Limited data is availabl on us of permethrin in pregnancy. It is not known whether permethrin is excreted in breast milk.DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For scabies ScabFree Cream / Lotion should be applied to dry skin in a thin layer. If crusted lesions are present, a warm bath preceding the medication is helpful. If a warm bath is used, allow the skin to dry before applying the cream / lotion. Usually one tube or 30ml lotion is sufficient for an adult. Apply ScabFREE Cream / Lotion on the skin over whole body excluding the head in adults (including the face, nck, scalp and ears in children and elderly ones). Paying special attention to areas between fingers, toes, wrists, axillae, thighs, external genitals and buttocks. All family members should use ScabFree Cream / Lotion at the time for the complete eradication of disease. Care must be taken to avoid applying cream / lotion to areas close to the eyes and in the vicinity of mouth where it would be licked off. The cream / lotion should be left on for 8 – 12 hours and should then be removed by thorough washing.ONE APPLICATION IS USUALLY CURATIVE.Under the advice of doctor, ScabFree Cream / Lotion can be used again after 14 days for better results.
DOSAGE:
Cream:
Adults and Children over 12 years: Upto 1 tube.Children: Aged 5-12 years: Upto ½ of the tube, 1-5 years: ¼ of a tube and 2 months-1 year: 1/8 of a tube. Few adults may need more than one tube depending on the condition of infection/disease. Maximum amount is limited upto two tubes (60gm of cream).
- Lotion: Shake well before use.
- Adults and Children over 12 years: 30 ml( ½ bottle).
- Children: Aged 5-12 years: Upto 15ml (¼ of the bottle), 1-5 years: 8ml (1/8 of a bottle) and infants 2 months-1 year: 4ml (1/16 of a bottle).
- Few adults may need more than one bottle depending on the condition of infection/disease. Maximum amount is limited upto one bottle (60ml lotion).
- FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
- INSTRUCTIONS:
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Protect from light and heat.
- Discard bottle when empty.
- Use as directed by the physician.
PRESENTATIONS:
- ScabFREE Cream is available in 30gm aluminium collapsible tube.
- ScabFREE Lotion is available in 60ml plastic bottle.
